HI2: a two degrees-of-freedom planar, highly isotropic haptic interface for the desktop

The kinematic parameters of a new tendon-driven 5-bar linkage were optimized to achieve both the best kinematic and dynamic isotropic performance over a given workspace. Following this, the mechanical design of the system was developed. Based on this study, the system is currently under construction.
