Our latest paper, “Investigating the effect of dry-friction on damage detection tests”, published on the Journal of Sound and Vibration Elsevier (h-index 200), is now available online in Golden Open Access.
In this work, we investigate theoretically and experimentally whether dry-friction can affect the detection of structural damages, implying false negatives for certain values of the friction-over-excitation ratio, and including the effect of different locations of the excitation/frictional-contact.
